Hwarang Cast: The Silla flower boys with the BeDAzzlinG Long Hair

In my personal opinion, Hwarang is seriously one of the most underrated Kdramas to be honest. They literally have everything. The handsome actors, the emotional roller-coasters, the bromance.. Oh the amazing bromance! It gets better; BTS V’s debut in the acting industry and of course, that guest appearance by Lee Kwang Soo oppa… pure gold guys.

After watching a lot of saeguks, I have a thing for the Korean “historical” hair. But, as I mentioned in my last blog post, this is an exclusive post just to appreciate how good the Hwarang cast looked with the long hair. Don’t worry I will honour my promise about the Scarlet Heart Ryeo “historical hair” exclusive post as well… for now, let’s get to business with this Hwarang heat. Today I’m literally feeling lazy to list the actors in alphabetical order.. So I am just going to jump in straight, in no particular order.

⧪KIM TAE HYUNG⧪

V looked soo soo innocent with the long hair. I mean, just look the hell at that gorge hair accentuate his handsome facial features man! He even slaying hair better than some women out there. Oh, and for the record, I was really impressed with V’s acting. I mean he was debuting and he did so naturally.. looking forward to more of his Kdrama appearances.

⧪PARK SEO JOON⧪

I know, I know…this is not his super best photo. But if you have already watched Hwarang, you MUST understand my obsession with this pic of him. Every time I see this pic of him, I just remember the scene he oozed with manliness as he said “Naega Singuge Wang-ida!!” (I am the King of Silla). WHOOSHH…this scene gave me goosebumps. I ABSOLUTELY loooved loooved Park Seo Joon in Hwarang. I didn’t put the picture of him in the official posters because I feel like he looked too ‘sweet’ there. Don’t get me wrong, that is not a bad thing, but one of the reasons I loved this show was because he portrayed masculinity really really well. I feel like the hair and his physique were an added advantage to his face… cause come on, take a good look at him.

I’m sorry, I just had to ..but then again I’m not sorry..💖

JO YOON WOO

You know when people say ‘beautiful man’? And you are like, “Is there such a thing?” Well, Jo yoon Woo with his hair was the literal representation of a beautiful man. He had that edge that made him a unique character. His hair was always on point and I loved how he was always bruise-free every time there was a ruckus at the Hwarang Residence. His cheek-bones and eye-lashes😍 Gosh! He must have been a woman in his past life..such a pretty flower.🌺

DO JI HAN

Do Ji Han is one of the stars who can pull off the iconic historical hair up-do.. yes the one without the bangs. Well to me at least, he slayed the look. I love how he had that innocence to him simultaneously paired with a little dark side to him that I couldn’t hate. Maybe it’s the hair magic, I don’t know, but he really did his character well cause portraying two VERY drastic energies so well like he did is not a walk in the park. Oh! And in Kdrama-land second lead couples, Do Ji Han and Lee Da-In make it in my top 10. Pure cuteness overload.

⧪CHOI MIN HO⧪

BAAAAM. Won’t you just look at that! Min Ho slays those bangs better than women, better than me! I just want to take a moment to appreciate Min Ho’s athleticism in the show guys. His swordsmanship was amazing too. I can’t even begin with the cutest bromance he had particularly with Do Ji Han’s character.

⧪PARK HYUN SIK⧪

He pulled off BOTH the bangs and the hair up-do. Like how though? As I was watching him, I had to *painfully* accept the second lead syndrome. But I hate to admit though, in as much as he was the Korean Prince charming with the sweet image and good hair, I was team Park Seo Joon. I was suffering with Second lead syndrome though… the pain, ya’ll can just imagine right? I like how he slayed both looks and his physique was amazing too. I feel like I loved the bromance between Park Seo Joon and him more than the actual romantic story. But then again Hwarang has everything..

*BONUS*

KIM HYUN JOON

He was a supporting actor… but one thing.. the long hair looked so good on him enough to have me notice him alongside the main cast. Had to get this ‘behind the scenes’ picture of him because his hair looked my absolute fav there. His signature look was that wavy curled hair overlapping his head band. In the above picture it’s not clear because his band is also black like his hair…. But…

Thank goodness ya’ll have this eunnie to bless you with another ‘Behind the Scenes’ shot that clearly shows his signature overlapping hair. His character was so manly yet loving… enough said!

Top 6 Korean Actors That Rocked Long Hair On set [Part I]

Annyeong my awesome audience..

Anyone who knows me in person would know how much of a "Korean everything" fan I am, particularly their TV series. Not to worry though if you are reading my blog for the first time cause I recently decided to blog and reach out to my fellow Kdrama fan-girls (and guys) outchea. Jal butak-hae😅

Just a disclaimer before I start

This list is not complete..and I deliberately left out the entire cast of Hwarang and Scarlet Heart. Why? Cause there's too many good looking men in there (**laughs wickedly😈). Nuh I'm just pulling your leg. The real reason is that I feel that I should do an entirely separate post specifically for them...More like a part 2. YES...to PROPERLY talk about all that HEAT without having to compromise.

I also consider myself a dragon fruit when it comes to Korean Actors and Actresses. I know u probably like huuuh? I will explain just now what I meant.

From this illustration, I'm sure it's pretty hard to count how many those seeds are bruh. Also, all the seeds are embedded nicely in the fruit. They each occupy their special place in the fruit.
So how does this then link me to being a dragon fruit?
My heart represents the dragon fruit..and each of all those seeds embedded in the fruit represents all the Korean actors and actresses out there that occupy a special place in my heart.

Anyway...It's hard to choose who looked better than who😁 so I'm going to save myself from the struggle and do this list ALPHABETICALLY. I also decided to do a comparison to further outline the rocking difference!

Here we go

    Gong Yoo

Gong Yoo looks good with the short hair, but guys.. for those who watched Goblin, I'm super sure you agree with me on this one. We need a special moment to appreciate the fact that he rocked (you know what..no.. HE ROCKS) long hair. I couldn't find a proper HD photo of his Goryeo Dynasty battle scene in his 2016-17 show, Goblin. But not to worry; he still didn't have super short hair in the rest of the show. As in the illustration on the left, Those BANGS wooosh... they blessed me though😻  I'm one person who will definitely watch any Gong Yoo show and trust me when I say he looked his best with those Midi-bangs in Goblin.

PS * I still have Goblin Withdrawal syndrome to this day though, and part of the reason being how good he looked with his hair bruh.. Well of course the major reason was because the show was literally a masterpiece!

Kim Bum

In the  illustration of Kim Bum with short hair on the right  he had lost weight for his character in Hidden Identity. He looked so cool in the show regardless! BUT.. He looked better in Padam Padam with that long  hair. I first fell for his drop dead gorge face in Boys over Flowers when he had the normal hair cut and short bangs. Well, in order from least to best, I would say 3rd, the super short hair, 2nd the Boys over flowers cut and 1st.. that Padam Padam long hair.

Oh and I just had to bless you with...

PS. You're Welcome💋

Kim Jae Wook

I could barely get any pics of him with short hair as well as HD pics cause Coffee Prince is 2007 show..That is like TEN YEARS AGO. Anyway..I think he mastered it by himself that he looks MAJOR good with long Hair. He never really gets super short hair from my mini investigation.

He was my absolute favorite (after the leads) in Coffee Prince, even though (if I remember well) his character was not very talkative in the show. I don't know guys.. I just liked him..maybe it was his hair, his smirk, maybe him.. You know what, lets just make it all three. The short hair in his right image is from one of his photo shoots (I guess)...it seriously took me a while to get a pic of him with what appears to be almost short hair😅 Don't know about you but he looks super Bomb with the long hair to me.

So..Because I feel like the only "close to HD photo" of him doesn't justify him enough, let me just be generous to ya'll once more.... I present.............⧪

Kim Hyun Joong

Kim Hyun Joong oh Kim Hyun Joong. I think to this day some of ya'll are notorious for still calling him Ji Hoo (laughs hysterically). Yup he was the amazing, sweet Ji Hoo in Boys over Flowers. I really liked the long blondish-brown hair he had, not to mention his character. They really squeezed out the SECOND LEAD SYNDROME outta me in this one. PS I shipped him with Goo Hye Sun. (Go ahead and hate me😜😜) Well I really think his hair really played a big part in me being team Ji Hoo tho.

Oh and Kim hyun joong does look amazing with the shaved sides/fade cut with bangs too.. (his live performance look)

Kwak Dong Yeon

Is it just me or his chilled personality in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds just gave chills tho... wait till you see how good he looked in the long hair. He no doubt slayed that Joseon era ninja look. Guys I feel like a Noona (What do I mean i feel like.. I AM😅!)... Why is he this gorge tho... and HE WAS BORN IN 1997.. *Faints... literally.

I remember watching the Moonlight interview and I was like wait.. is Kwak Dong Yeon the long hair dude in that poster🙆. His heat was literally overwhelming bruh.. for real.. and I'm a noona on top of all this.

Lee Min Ho

I literally couldn't leave him out..otherwise some would troll me (hahaha..I know!)
But that won't happen cause  I too think he looked good with the long hair in Faith (2012). Lee Min Ho honestly looks good in both short and long hair..but for the sake of this articles title I'm just going to do as per protocol.
And he looks good in Saeguks to be honest. I'd be really happy if he does more of those because I reaaaaallly like Korean Historical shows, so much so that I could literally walk into a Korean history test and get at least a C (ok..nuh it's not that easy..hahaha exams will humble me😅😝).

*BONUS*

Just cause I'm feeling generous as ever... I'm just going to give ya'll Sung Hoon (or as I see him...'uri' beautiful silver pegasus) in Faith (2012).

Impressive... You actually read till the bottom! Hahahah I'm happy. If you liked my blog post..let me know in the comments..and share with ya'll eunnie/noona who you think should make it in a Part 2 or even 3 list of these endless Hot Kdrama Actors that looked BOMB with the long hair!
